In May 2007, the European Union issued the REACH regulation, which is considered the most important regulation in the EU's 20-year history. The REACH regulation, also known as EC/1907/2006 "Regulation on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals", was officially implemented in the EU on June 1, 2007, and controls chemicals or chemical substances. Therefore, it covers almost all industries and has had a profound impact on various sectors. The REACH regulation imposes requirements on products sold in the EU market, including registration, restriction, authorization, and notification, requiring manufacturers and importers to fulfill corresponding obligations. At the same time, a list of substances of Very High Concern (SVHC), including carcinogens, teratogens, reproductive toxicity, bioaccumulation, and other high-risk substances, will be released in batches to provide more targeted control and restrictions on SVHC, in order to safeguard human health.
